I have been a professional makeup artist for nearly 10 years, creating original looks and perfecting the art of transforming people.
I work freelance, approach what I do with a sense of humour, and aim to stay up-to-date with the latest technology, products and techniques to create beauty with an edge.
I started developing my ideas about fashion, deportment, makeup and the business of looking good as a student at the June Dally-Watkins Business Finishing School.
I went on to the Sydney Film Makeup Technology (now Australian College of Makeup and Special Effects) and gained a wide knowledge of period looks, special effects and theatrical makeup. I have since honed my skills in makeup for wedding, fashion and photographic.
In 2002 I packed up my makeup kit and moved south to Melbourne. In 2003 I joined Kryolan Cosmetics (formally known as Backstage Makeup), a Melbourne-based makeup institution that has been leading the way and supplying our industry with a full range of commercial and professional makeup for over 20 years.
Kryolan is the oldest (and now largest) independent professional makeup company in the world.
Working with Kryolan helps me to stay abreast with the latest makeup products and keep my skills up-to-date, understand what customers want, and to build a kit of the highest quality products that allow me to create almost any look.
My makeup philosophy is to enhance the natural beauty of the wearer. I use products to highlight their best features and minimise any flaws, while ensuring they still look themselves (unless they want to be transformed into someone else!).
